An Eyelid Lift in Your 30s? Why Younger Women Are Getting ‘Blephs’

Blepharoplasties were once reserved for patients in their 60s with droopy lids and impaired vision. Now they’re the hottest plastic surgery ask for the under-40 crowd.

When he first started his Manhattan oculofacial plastic surgery practice in 2007, Dr. Robert Schwarcz found that patients seeking a blepharoplasty tended to be in their 50s or older. Now, they’re often decades younger.

“There’s been an increase in patients and a decrease in age.” Dr. Melissa Doft, a plastic surgeon on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, said, noting that in 2025 she even had blepharoplasty consultations with 20‑somethings.
